Warning! Bank details fraud...

David Notaires urges its clients to be vigilant following a hacking scam that has affected several notaires' offices in France.

The hackers take over notaires' e-mail accounts and, in the e-mails sent to clients, replace the office's bank details (RIB) with their own personal account abroad!

We would therefore remind you of the following basic security rules:
– your notaire's bank account is held with the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, the only bank authorised to receive your personal funds on behalf of the notaire;
– the IBAN must begin with the letters "FR";
– the bank details must be in French;
– they must show the name of the notarial office as account holder.

In any event, and in view of these events, before any large transfer we advise you:
– to confirm by telephone the bank details to be given to your bank;
– or to collect the bank details in person at the notarial office;
– or to visit your bank adviser and ask them to check the account and carry out a secure transaction.
